The club has been registered to a "Sports prediction website", entitled www.sportsprophet.ie. This website rquires each member to make a prediction on the winning teams/players of 25 different sporting events e.g. Heinekin cup rugby, English Premiership, All-Ireland Hurling and Football etc. Points will be allocated after each competition ends, and each person will receive email updates of their position on the Kilkenny Hockey Club Leader board. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs. See the website for entry form and further details.

For this venture to be a success, we are asking each Member to sign up a minimum 5 people. People can sign up manually, or on-line. A fee of €20 euro is required to enter this and we ask you to give it to a member of the Club. The closing date for all entries is the 9th of February so we really need to move fast. Good Luck

Safety is very important

Safety is very important and we ask that all players wear the correct safety gear. Please make sure that you have a gum shield, its easy for a ball to deflect and hit you in the mouth which may cause damage to your teeth.

Also footwear is extremely important, Please make sure you have the correct Astro runners. Normal runners can be very slipply if the pitch is any bit wet. As you might remember last year we had a couple of bad injuries from people not wearing the correct footwear.

Informal Training Session

We had our first informal training session on Thursday. David Harrington eased us back into the swing of things nicely, starting with a good warm up and then a half pitch game. It was great to see a good turn out and some new faces. We hope that next Tuesdays training will be as good with more people old and new turning up.

This year we ask that people can turn up to training that little bit earlier. Training should start at 7.30 on the dot in order to get a good training session. So if you can arrive 5 min earlier we would appreciate it. Time keeping is very important.
